Hope for Tanzania

The Church in Tanzania

Added 11 December 2013

Whilst the proportion of the Tanzanian population that is Christian is high - maybe 50% - many are nominal in their faith and commitment to Jesus. For many people, attending Sunday church services is all they do in the spiritual area and they are not accustomed to read the Bible, pray or meet with other Christians during the rest of the week. This means that they never mature in their faith and do not become strong. So when temptation or other attractions come along they give in and fail to overcome them. Of course many are passionate for God and active in evangelism and mission. Please pray that a new thirst for Jesus will take hold of Christians in Tanzania so that they desire to love and serve God. Pray that they will read the Bible and meet together for discipleship training and learning.Pray that they will apply Christian principles to all areas of their lives, especially those that the Church currently has a blind spot about.
